Dovid Moskovits won the Jewish Star International singing competition which took place over the past few months and culminating with a huge sold out concert last night at Brooklyn College.  The competition started in the early winter, with contestants posting videos of themselves. Dovid did not find out about it until a week before the voting wrapped – but he managed to get his entry in and enough votes to make it into the finals, with the amazing NYBC song “Sulam.”

At last night’s competition, Dovid sang an Adon Olam medley and rocked the house – first with his heartfelt rendition of an old classic sung by many a renown chazzan, and then with his updated version of Miami’s Adon Olam. With some rapping, vibrato and a lot of hand clapping by the audience – Dovid brought down the house!

The judges were impressed – each one of them mentioned the word Star….
And then awarded him the highest honor of the evening. The Junior winner received a beautiful glass sculpture, trip to Israel and a check for $1,000.

In addition to 8 adult finalists and a star studded judging panel including Yossi Green, Avraham Fried, Eli Gerstner and Mendy Pellin, Lipa Schmeltzer performed and got the audience rocking.
